This work addresses the problem of designing a current source that supplies electric current to the primary (or magnetizing) winding of a magnetoelastic sensor.
Firstly, a simulation model was set up in the Proteus 8 Professional simulation program where multiple variations of the current source were tested. The best-performing one is described in this paper. The current source was constructed on a breadboard and after final adjustments, it was soldered to a prototyping board.
